CERES Catalog : Why Should I Use it?

This text was initially published by Vitrine technologie-éducation under a CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 licence, before Eductive was launched.

During this pandemic period, the MEES is asking teachers in higher education to provide online teaching. In this context, we would like to remind you what CERES catalog is, the type of resources found there and how to use it optimally.

What is CERES ?

CERES is a catalog of digital educational resources which is managed by the Vitrine technologie-éducation. The resources found in CERES can be used by teachers in their lessons to support their students’ learning. This catalog can also be used directly by any learner to support his or her own learning.

What types of resources are in CERES ?

CERES lists thousands of resources for college and university education. These resources are hosted on the web sites of our partners, which are in the Quebec College network, as well as local, European and American institutions.

How to find a resource in CERES?

The CERES search tool provides access to quality resources.  However, its interface does not offer all the usual criteria for finding resources and sorting results.  Here are the available options :

  1. Quick Search (by keywords)
  2. Advanced Search (by organization, word in title, addition date, etc.)
  3. Thematic Navigation (by college subjects/disciplines, skill from the ICT Profile for College Students, Dewey’s classification, etc.)

Here’s a Quick Start Guide on how to use CERES to its full potential.

Enjoy !
